Two 2014 new gTLD conferences planned

Two new gTLD conferences with different focuses are planned for early 2014.
NamesCon is a new event “For Registries, Registrars and Registrants” planned by long-time domainer Richard Lau, due to be held somewhere in Las Vegas January 13 to 15.
The early line-up is looking more domainer-heavy than new gTLD conferences we’ve seen to date, which might make it a good opportunity for registries to network with investor “market makers”.
Momentum Consulting has also confirmed dates for its third Digital Marketing & gTLD Strategy Congress.
Set for March 3 to 4 at the Dream Hotel in New York, the site of the first conference earlier this year, the third event promises “real-world launch case studies timed to coincide with the anticipated delegation and launch of the initial wave of new TLDs” according to Momentum.
The Congress is a more brand-oriented event.
The first 25 people to buy tickets will apparently get full recordings of the recent London event thrown in.
NamesCon will be just beer festival that won’t help anyone to do any business. Besides of Adam Dicker (speaker), I see no serious domain investors to attend this (pseudo-)conference. Kevin, please don’t tell me you have plan to go there…
@Frank A — I’m not really into beer, but I’ll buy you one at NamesCon if you can give me a critique of the show and its attendees. I sure hope you consider Frank Schilling a serious domain investor or perhaps you know of someone bigger we should be pulling in as a Keynote Speaker?
The speaking list is only just getting started. We have many, many more who have thrown their hats in the ring. If you’ve been to any of the smaller networking events I’ve put on you’ll know that laying the scene for people to do business networking is exactly what I’m all about. NamesCon will reflect this and there will be a whole spectrum of well respected and knowledgable domain entrepreneurs like Adam Dicker in attendance.
Please do come. You won’t regret it. If you don’t recognize names like Braden Pollock, Paul Nicks, Jothan Frakes, Patrick Carelton and Bill Sweetman you really need to come and meet them.
I am personally excited to join Richard, Frank, Braden and others in Vegas for NamesCon. i just came from TRAFFIC in Ft Lauderdale where the buzz was generally positive regarding Richard’s planned conference.
