YouPorn imposes embargo on .xxx sites
Manwin, the company behind YouPorn, has stepped up its fight against ICM Registry by saying it will not do business with any .xxx web site.
Reported in the adult press this weekend, the ban seems to extend to webmasters hoping to promote their sites on Manwin’s “tube” sites, including YouPorn.
It also won’t allow its content to be used on .xxx sites, according to Xbiz.
Manwin is of course already suing ICM and ICANN under US monopoly laws, and has demanded an ICANN independent review, claiming the .xxx launch amounted to “extortion”.
The domain YouPorn.xxx is currently on ICM’s Registry Reserved list, meaning it was not acquired during sunrise and will not become available when .xxx opens its doors on Tuesday.
YouPorn is one of the web’s top 100 sites, according to Alexa.

Kevin,
I don’t know if you like feedback but I’ll take a chance.
This topic was reported on several domain blogs yesterday.
By using “drops” in your title, “YouPorn drops embargo on .xxx sites”, I got the impression Manwin changed their position and was not going to embargo any .XXX sites.

Kevin Murphy due to…
Excellent point, thanks.
I wonder why he is doing this? Only thing i can think of is that YouPorn feels threatened by the .xxx extension, which should tell you something.
Let’s goo .XXX and make it success! The monopoly should be ended!Manwin is just scared of the success of .XXX and the competetors in the industry!
Payloadz has a bulk whois search tool available for download. I’ve used this – it’s a great way to find out what names are not available (reserved by the registry) so you don’t waste your money trying to register names already taken in the sunrise and landrush phases. Believe it – most registrars aren’t checking the registry, just their own queue! This tool saved me a ton of headache!
Thanks for the comment.

payloadz bulk whois. I could not locate any such service. I would appreciate the link.
Go to store dot payloadz dot com and type whois in the search.
Kevin,
What’s your stance on Manwin’s boycott? Do you think it will help .XXX entrepreneurs or hurt them?
I’m not really an adult industry specialist, and I’ve not looked into that question particularly deeply.
I’m guessing that most .xxx customers will probably have .com addresses anyway, so the boycott may not affect .xxx registration volume very hard.
